Motivate resources

Core business debate

Do we need to motivate people is a big question? How to motivate is another. As big.

Behind motivation, we hear a wide range of key words from people & organizations, such as efficiency, success over time, satisfaction, performance, productivity, competitivity, well-being…

For the last 50 years, talking about engagement, implication at work or commitment remains probably the crucial topic in Organizational Development.

Need theories of Maslow or ERG, Hertzberg’s bi-factorial motivation theory or Vroom’s expectancy theory still are discussed with great interest every day, emphasizing the rather relative weight of extrinsic factors like salary in the satisfaction of managers around the world. Or the fact that decreasing factors of dissatisfaction does not increase satisfaction…

Psychosocial approach to motivation increasingly melts into the managerial one. For instance, having personnel participating into the decision-making at any level becomes crucial in preventing disengagement, absenteeism or soon burn-out.

You don’t feed people only with reports and management. People move with vision, hope, future, plan & projects. Especially if change is around the corner.

Even that is not enough. Today, organizations create environments for happiness!

No one can make another person happy. However, teams and colleagues collectively can prevent together syndromes of bore out, burn out, absenteeism, de-motivation…But organizations should create the environment for that & give people the chance to flourish.

LEDOUBLECOACH is part of that debate, even more part of the action plan. We believe any question on motivation relates to the core of the organization, and to the essence of the people. Probably far ahead of the core business itself of the company. It is about sense and meaning. Companies have entered the era, and that’s good news.
